QB Internet Security Level Too High Fix

1. Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Server Manager


2. Under the Security Information section to the right click on Configure IE ESC


3. From here either Enable or Disable IE ESC for Administrators or Users


Windows Small Business Server 2003


1. Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs


2. Click on Add/Remove Windows Components to the left


3. Click on Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration then click on Details


4. Make your selection to remove IE ESC for Administrators or other User groups then click OK


Yea, a standard user account will not have permission to modifiy the security levels.


If you have made the changes logged in as Administrator you can follow the steps above using the Group Policy Editor to change the security level for ALL USERS. I stress all users because it appears that when you change it this way it kind of sets the default security level.


Logged in as Administrator:


1. Start > Run > gpedit.msc and press Enter


2. User Configuration > Windows Settings > Internet Explorer Maintenance > Security


3. Double click on Security Zones and Content Ratings item


4. Select the Import the current security zones and privacy settings option


5. Read the information and click Continue


6. Click the Modify Settings button


7. Click the Custom Level button


8. Verify the four settings are changed as to how I described above


9. Click OK three times and close the Group Policy Editor


Now try logging in as the user and QuickBooks should start without issue.
